  • Myotherapy is a form of hands-on treatment that focuses on muscles, joints, and movement. It looks at the body as a whole, not just the painful area, to understand why something is happening and how to actually change it.

It can include things like massage, trigger point therapy, dry needling, cupping, joint mobilisation, and exercise-based rehab.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Do you accept payment plans?

Yes of course! It’s a huge decision, and if the investment is the only thing holding you back, we can organise a payment plan that suits you!
There does need to be a deposit to start, and full payment needs to be made by 37 weeks.

  • What sort of births do you support?

Any and all! Where ever you feel safest is best. So hospital, assisted or unassisted homebirth, I’ll be there to support you.

  • Do you provide a post partum meal service?

I may bring a meal and some snacks for our postpartum sessions but I am unable to provide a large meal service. And I’m not that great in the kitchen so, it’s probably for the best

  • Can you provide birth only support?

No. I firmly believe that there needs to be a relationship and a rapport built. You need to be able to trust me, I need to get to know you and your wants and needs so I can best support you. This can only be done with time.

  • Do you hire a back up doula?

Not as a general rule. I take a limited amount of in person birth support clients so my time is open to you! In the very rare case that I am unavailable, my mum will sometimes step in, otherwise if I miss your birth due to being unavailable you will get a refund of the birth support fee.

  • How do you include my partner in the birth?

I support the entire family. I will also support your partner prenatally and through labour so they know what to expect and have tools to be able to support you. Birth can sometimes be confronting, and I am there to be able to reassure them and help them into the right headspace to support you!

  • Can you help me with body work?

Yes! I have a Bachelor of Health Science in Myotherapy and have been working in the field since 2012. I specialise in treating clients throughout the perinatal period. Although I don’t do internal pelvic treatments.

  • Can you help with exercise programming?

Yes, I’m also a qualified Pilates instructor, and personally love weight training and yoga as well. So I can create a plan for you, or help you modify your own program/classes.

  • Can you check my cervix, blood pressure etc?

No. A doula is a non medical support. It’s out of my scope of practice to conduct any clinical testing (outside of musculoskeletal testing in relation to bodywork/exercise). I also don’t treat internal pelvic structures.
