Internal Pelvic Release work

Most women know they have a pelvic floor, but very few have been taught what it actually does, let alone how to tell when it's tight, overworked, or asking for a little attention.

Your pelvic floor is involved in everything from bladder and bowel function to breathing, intimacy, pregnancy, birth, and recovery. It also responds to stress, injury, trauma, and life in general.

These sessions help you better understand your body, explore areas of tension or discomfort, and create more ease through gentle hands-on care and education.

Sessions will include both external and internal techniques. Internal work allows us to assess and work with the muscles and connective tissues of the pelvis through the vaginal wall, reaching areas that simply can't be accessed from the outside.

This isn't a treatment that's done to you. I’m providing care and we work through it together.

You're in the driver's seat the whole time. We move at a pace that feels comfortable, and your body helps guide what your care looks like on the day.

Whether you're preparing for birth, recovering postpartum, dealing with pelvic pain, or simply wanting to understand your body a little better, these sessions provide a safe space to learn, ask questions, and build confidence in your pelvic floor.

Internal pelvic release Work Questions, Answered

  • Typically the heavier first few days we want to avoid, but the lighter last few are fine, if you’re comfortable.

We will generally shorten the session and do external work instead so you don’t miss out altogether.

  • My mentor says every pelvis is unique even day to day. A pelvis can shape shift, and different things will present depending on that particular day.

So that is entirely up to you. Occasionally I will suggest a more defined structure to return for care, but again, it’s about what aligns best with you

  • If you have a vulva, and this kind of care is calling to you - simply, yes.

Regardless of if you have carried babies or not, regardless of if you don’t bleed anymore, regardless of if you have had trauma or injury before. This work is for you to learn and connect with your pelvic space.

Pelvic physiotherapy is a more medical based treatment, focusing on diagnosing dysfunction and uses a range rehab tools and exercises. It can only be performed by a registered physiotherapist.
