Clinical Myotherapy

Remedial Massage

In my clinic in the heart of Pakenham, I specialise in women’s health, offering Clinical Myotherapy and Remedial massage. The space is warm and inviting, allowing you (and me) to be fully present in our sessions.

I umbrella these two modalities in my booking system, because on my pathway to a Bachelor of Health Science in Clinical Myotherapy - I also completed my Diploma of Remedial Massage.

So I can do both! I often gear my treatment more to your needs, and what your goals are at the time.

I’m very hands on and provide personalised treatment to you, including home care exercises, and advice on daily modifications that can help continue to benefits of your session. I use a blend of manual therapy techniques, including dry needling, cupping, massage, joint mobilisations, and fascial release to compliment your body and get you not only feeling better, but moving better too!

So what’s the difference..

Between myotherapy and remedial massage, honestly - not a lot.

A Diploma of Remedial Massage takes about 12 - 18 months to complete, and includes some human anatomy, physiology and movement, as well as soft tissue techniques we all know and love. They also do the basics of corrective/exercises and rehab, as well as some orthopaedic testing.

Myotherapy is either an Advanced Diploma or a Bachelor Degree (Clinical) and can take between 18months and 4 years to complete. Myo’s dive a little deeper into the human body, rehab and testing. Dry needling is also a standard technique taught across both courses, as well as more advanced techniques like joint mobilisations. Myotherapy is often described as not just treating the presentation (your pain) but the cause. Looking at each individual part - and the whole.

But! Every practitioner is different. You can have a remedial therapist who has worked in the industry for 10+ years, and with continuing education (a requirement of our association membership) has learnt above and beyond what someone with a Bachelor would have. You can also get myotherapists who prefer to treat a lot more remedially, than clinically.

I bring a holistic, whole-person approach to every session. With over 13 years of hands-on experience in the industry, there’s not much I haven’t seen or treated!

As both a clinical myotherapist and a doula, I am especially passionate about supporting pregnant clients. Whether you’re navigating pelvic girdle pain, struggling to get comfy, or simply wanting to slow down and reconnect with your body and baby through massage, I have got you.

But the magic doesn’t stop there. I love supporting women through every season of life. From helping new grandmas get down on the floor to play with their grandbabies, to educating young women about pelvic floor health, and even supporting clients preparing to start a family with targeted, proactive care.

While my heart lies in women’s health, I welcome anyone who feels myotherapy might help them move and feel better.

Some of my favourite things to support clients with include:

  • Pregnancy related issues

  • Headaches and TMJ issues

  • Chronic pain and fatigue

  • Hypermobility disorders

  • Lower back and hip pain
